BioShock: Engaging Stories & Updates
Update: Irrational Games has declared that BioShock Infinite has reached the gold stage, ensuring that it will undoubtedly meet its March 26th release date.
“The game’s total cost encompassed five years, a staggering 941 billion Klingon darseks (with a tip included), 47 camels, a cranberry flan, and the blood, sweat, and tears of the Irrational Team,” stated creative lead Ken Levine on the company blog.
Original story: BioShock Infinite’s publisher, 2K Games, has unveiled another portion of gameplay footage, this time concentrating on the sidekick Elizabeth.
The trailer, titled “Lamb of Columbia”, offers fleeting glimpses of Elizabeth in action and a brief look at Columbia’s enigmatic founder, the magnificently bearded Comstock.
“The girl is the flame that will set the world ablaze,” a character remarks, presumably referring to Liz.
The trailer commences with the line: “The seed of the prophet shall occupy the throne, and immerse the mountains of man in flames.”
Comstock has previously been mentioned as Columbia’s “prophet”, and later it is heard that he suggests the player character Booker de Witt has “come to lead my lamb astray”. All of this seemingly implies that Elizabeth is Comstock’s daughter.
The trailer concludes with an enthralling shot of Elizabeth standing before a tempestuous rural backdrop (outside of Columbia perhaps?) as a tornado hurtles through a cornfield behind her.
After a lengthy four-year development period, BioShock Infinite is ultimately slated for release next month.
