Gabriel Knight: Remake Hits in October Sins of the Fathers Returns This Fall
Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers 20th Anniversary Edition, a remarkable remake of Jane Jensen’s cherished New Orleans-centered point-and-click adventure, is making its way to PC and Mac on October 15th.
The first image showcases the updated and stylish graphics, while maintaining that classic charm. Publisher Activision has declared that it will be accessible on Steam, GoG, and “other online retailers.” Additionally, iOS and Android versions are on the horizon, although the specific date remains undisclosed.
Developed by Phoenix Online Studios in partnership with series creator Jane Jensen at her studio Pinkerton Road, this remake of Sins of the Fathers boasts enhanced graphics and music, along with an array of brand-new content such as additional puzzles and scenes.
Pre-orders will come with a 15 percent discount off the regular price of £12.99 / $19.99, bringing the cost down to £11.04 / $16.99. Moreover, these pre-orders will include the game’s soundtrack.
This 20th Anniversary Edition will present entirely new behind-the-scenes content regarding the development of both the original game and the remake. This encompasses concept art, interviews, and magazine articles.
Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers follows the eponymous New Orleans bookstore owner and occult detective who finds himself embroiled in a challenging situation as he attempts to solve local murders, as one might expect.
“It’s been a long-awaited dream to be able to work on Gabriel Knight once again, and I’m incredibly thrilled to introduce it to a fresh audience,” Jensen remarked about this remake. “I believe it looks astonishing and retains all the classic gameplay elements.”
“Gabriel Knight is the reason I became a developer. It was a revolutionary game that demonstrated the prowess of Jane Jensen’s storytelling,” added Cesar Bittar, CEO of Phoenix Online. “The privilege of collaborating with Jane in remaking one of the most beloved adventure games of all time is undoubtedly a golden opportunity for me, but it also comes with a great responsibility. We are exerting our utmost efforts to ensure that both long-time fans and newcomers will be ecstatic with the results and eager to once again embark on the journey as a Schattenjäger.”
Regrettably, this Gabriel Knight remake will not feature Tim Curry in the title role. Instead, the developers have enlisted the services of individuals from Bay Area Sound, the company that collaborated with Telltale to provide the voices for The Walking Dead, Tales of Monkey Island, and the recent Sam & Max titles.
