PES 2017: Liverpool Stadium, Reviews & More
When FIFA 17 made its debut, Liverpool fans couldn’t help but groan (yes, you heard it right, I know) about the absence of Anfield’s new stand in the game.
The Main Stand at Anfield underwent an expansion during the summer, with the aim of increasing the stadium’s capacity to just over 54,000.
There was an expectation that this new stand would be featured in FIFA 17’s version of Anfield. However, to the disappointment of many, it failed to materialize.
Here’s a glimpse of the reactions:
Just discovered that there’s NO new main stand at Anfield in #FIFA17. @EASPORTSFIFA Any reason for this???

Initially, Anfield wasn’t included in PES 2017 at its launch. But now, Konami has announced that the stadium is slated to be added to the game in November. And as part of that update, you’ll hear the powerful anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” resonating from the terraces – including, you guessed it right, the new main stand.
PES 2017 is slated for two complimentary updates. The first download, scheduled to be released at the end of October, will bring Konami’s football game to version 1.02 and add a number of enhanced facial likenesses of players.
The October update recognizes over 39 players “who have excelled” in the early stages of the season. So, expect to see reproductions of the likes of Wissam Ben Yedder, Mario Lemina, Aymeric Laporte, Victor Wanyama, and Denis Suarez.
The November update, which will upgrade PES 2017 to version 1.03, will introduce a 4K mode to coincide with the launch of the PS4 Pro.
But more importantly, it will also add Anfield, complete with the stadium’s new main stand.
Anfield’s new main stand.
As we’ve previously reported, PES signed a deal with Liverpool, ensuring the club gets significant prominence in the game. (FIFA 17, on the other hand, is the official partner of Liverpool’s fierce rivals, Manchester United.)
When FIFA 17 was released, players were left puzzled as to where Anfield’s new stand was. I’ve managed to find a response from an EA community manager, posted on the EA website:
So, Anfield’s new stand is in PES 2017. Will it be included in FIFA 17 in an update? The decision lies with EA.
