Treasure and Capcom Creating Gaist Crusher Sequel
Treasure, the developer of Sin & Punishment and Gunstar Heroes, is collaborating with Capcom to craft a sequel to its 3DS boss-hunting adventure, Gaist Crusher.
Entitled Gaist Crusher God, unfortunately, this sequel has not been confirmed for a western release. Given that the first Gaist Crusher never ventured beyond its native Japan, the prospects for it seem rather dim.
As reported by Dengeki (via Siliconera), the initial Gaist Crusher only managed to sell a meager 8053 units. It’s quite astonishing that a sequel has even been given the go-ahead. Additionally, the series also has manga and anime adaptations, so perhaps these will enhance its visibility in the public eye.
The First Gaist Crusher also garnered some affection from Capcom, who provided the game with some crossover creatures from Monster Hunter 4.
Capcom has released the following trailer for Gaist Crusher God. Judging from its visuals and Treasure’s reputation, it appears quite awesome. Hopefully, it will overcome the odds and reach the European shores.
